                      Worshipful Master Matthew D. Haught

Brethren:
I urge you to carefully read over your communication. We have a large amount of degree work coming up that we are trying to get done before the end of the year. In doing so we are having a couple of special meetings as well as some early openings. We will be very busy in these last few months of the year and I encourage everyone to attend as often as possible.

As this will be my final communication, I have to thank everyone for all of your support throughout the year. I am so proud to say I was the WM of Howard Lodge. Without the help and support of so many brethren, this lodge could not function as smoothly and as successfully as we do. This year has gone by so fast I cannot believe its almost over and I thank you all for giving me this opportunity, it will be one I will never forget.

Also brethren we have our annual bull roast coming up. Ticket sales have been a little slow.  If you are able to attend please do. You can see Shawn Whalen or PM Winkler for tickets. Please help us make this a successful event. We also have a new sign up sheet for our annual Christmas party. PM Duvall is asking everyone to fill out this sheet with a gift suggestion for the children you will be bringing, to help things run smoothly for him and his family, as they do the majority of the work for the party.

Finally brethren I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. I’d like to wish my brother Adam and his line a successful year to come, and hope to see everyone in lodge soon.

Sincerely and Fraternally                                                                                Matthew Haught Sr. WM

                        Senior Warden Shawn P. Whalen

 To my Brethren,

As everyone knows I lost my beloved Laura on
January 14th to a stroke. It was very sudden and I
miss her very much. 1 would like to thank all the
brethren who came to the hospital to visit her, all
the brethren who came to the funeral services and to
the funeral.

If you knew my Laura, you knew that she loved
life a lot. We traveled when we could. Even if it
was just a weekend get away. She loved cooking
and baking for the lodge and for the brothers. It
brought so much joy to her. She enjoyed ladies
night and the social functions that the lodge has to
offer. She was very supportive on my travels to the
East.

I wanted everyone to know that she loved each
and everyone of you. She had a special place in her
heart for you, some more than others. 1 know she is
looking down at us with that smile that only she has.
Keeping the good watch as I know she can.

There is not a day that goes by or nor will there
be a day that goes by that I will not think of her. I
have never missed anyone more than I miss her.
This is the toughest thing I have ever been through
in my life. My heart is truly broken. I have been
told that time heals all wounds. At this point in my
life 1 just can't believe that. The person that thought
of that saying did not know my Laura.

Thank you once again for all your support, cards,
phone calls and stopping by my house to see how I
am doing. It means so much to me.Your friend and brother,
Shawn P. Whalen, Sr.

Secretary's Note:

There are twenty-eight brethren who still owe 2008 dues.  If not paid by December 31, 2008 you will be suspended.  Save the lodge money and pay your dues.  The secretary will have to mail out twenty-eight certified letters to all those who have not paid their 2008 dues at the end of November.  This will cost approximately five dollars per letter.  If you are having problems paying your dues, please contact the Secretary or the Worshipful Master.  We do not want to suspend anyone.

                                                                       Fraternally,

                                                                       Ralph S. Bathgate, PM Secretary
